I feel as though we’ve all probably done it, at some point in our lives.
Where you’re following along to a yoga/some kind of movement-based class, either in a public class or online, and you find yourself in a shape that doesn’t really feel…right.
Either somewhere in your body is not exactly happy in the shape you’re in, or you’re questioning if you’re doing the right thing at all.
You look at the teacher or around at the rest if the class and try to copy the shapes their making, because you think that your body should look the same for the shape to be ‘correct’ or ‘perfect’.
Instead of feeling into the moment and changing your position so it feels better for you, you resist.
You do one of two things: keep pressing on until you reach that illusive ‘correct’ shape, OR you inter into a downward mental spiral of ’not good enough’, ‘can’t do this’ and maybe even some body-hating thoughts too.
Been there. Seen it. Done it myself. And it doesn’t really get you anywhere.
The shift we need to make the get the most out of pretty much any kind of self-work or transformation; from diet to movement to mindset, is:
One size, most certainly, does not ‘fit all’
We see so much blanket advice and, what I call, ‘the global should’s’ about our health. E.g. everyone ‘should’ follow X diet or Y fitness method in order to stay healthy or to loose weight the fastest.
And those recommendations change all the time depending on what’s in fashion or most hyped on social media.
It’s overwhelming, isn’t it?
That overwhelm stops some of us from moving forward at all…and others find themselves just going around in circles trying everything and hoping that one day they’ll just feel better by magic.
But the thing is, when you really want to thrive from the inside out, it doesn’t really work that way.
You can’t squeeze yourself into a box of the ‘right way for everyone’ because ,we’re all so deeply different.
We each walk through life with a verity of things:
….I could continue for days, but I promised myself I’d keep this one kinda short 😆
So with all of those things and more in mind, would you say it makes sense to all follow the exact same path to health and healing?
Hell no.
We each need a different cocktail of things, or at the very least a different intention behind what we’re doing to find the fastest route to feeling better.
The fastest, most impactful route to the life and the you that you want to create has to honour everything that make you..well…you, as you are right now.
And that will be slightly different for each of you.
So realise your power, ask what really intuitively feels right to you and listen to that.
For the fastest route to the life you want you can always book a free 60min call with me where I’ll help you create a roadmap and a point of focus to help you find oyur freedom fast.
